The Australian Antarctic Program has laboratories for scientific research at each station, and at the head office in Kingston, Tasmania. The facilities are available for use by all researchers who have Australian Antarctic Science Program approved projects.
The science laboratories are well equipped. Laboratory agreements can be made with the Laboratory Manager for the use of scientific equipment and project space.
Scientists can take specialised equipment to Antarctica (including consumables and chemicals) for approved programs. These items must be returned to Australia on completion of the program. Please contact the Division for more information.
